Daily Prayer

Matthew 6: 9-13

Thus therefore shall you pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.

  1. Sorry

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His Name, My God, have mercy on my soul.

    Amen

  2. Heart

O My God, I love Thee above all things,
With my whole heart and soul,
Because Thou art all-good and worthy of all love.
I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee.
I forgive all who have injured me,
And ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

    Amen

  3. help
Sometimes it’s too much for me Lord,
    too many demands and problems,
too much sadness, suffering, and stress.

    Renew me spiritually and emotionally.
Give me new strength, hope, and confidence.
Prepare me to meet the constant struggles
of daily life with a deeper faith and trust in You.

Let your love set me free.
    Amen

  4. family
Lord Jesus, be with my family. Grant us Your peace and harmony, an end to conflict and division.
Gift us with compassion to better understand each other, wisdom and love to assist each other, and trust and patience to live peacefully together. Grant that through the intercession of your mother, Mary, and St. Joseph, our family may become a holy family accepting each other, working together in unity, selflessly dedicated to one other and to You.
    Amen.

  5. Jesus Love

I stand at the door of your heart, day and night. Even when you are not listening, even when you doubt it could be Me, I am there. I await even the smallest sign of your response, even the least whispered invitation that will allow Me to enter.

And I want you to know that whenever you invite Me, I do come – always, without fail. Silent and unseen I come, but with infinite power and love, and bringing the many gifts of My Spirit. I come with My mercy, with My desire to forgive and heal you, and with a love for you beyond your comprehension – a love every bit as great as the love I have received from the Father (“As much as the Father has loved me, I have loved you…” (Jn. 15:10) I come – longing to console you and give you strength, to lift you up and bind all your wounds. I bring you My light, to dispel your darkness and all your doubts. I come with My power, that I might carry you and all your burdens; with My grace, to touch your heart and transform your life; and My peace I give to still your soul. Trust in me.

  6. A Prisoner’s Daily Prayer for Justice and Mercy

PrisonJesus, united with the Father and the Holy Spirit, give us your compassion for those in prison. Mend in mercy, the broken in mind and memory. Soften the hard of hearts, the captives of anger. Free the innocent; parole the trustworthy. Awaken the repentance that restores hope. May the prisoners’ families persevere in their love. Jesus, heal the victims of crime. They live with the scars. Lift to eternal peace those who die. Grant victims’ families the foregiveness that heals. Give wisdom to lawmakers and those who judge. Instill prudence and patience in those who guard. Make those in prison ministry bearers of your light, for all of us are in need of your mercy.

Jesus, I come to you and ask for help to remain faithful. Help me to keep on serving you, even when I am discouraged. Even when it doesn’t seem like I am accomplish anything. Help me to be the faithful servant that you delight to find serving in your household. Forgive me Lord, when I fail you. Cleanse me and set me back on the way of your service.

    Amen

  7. Day“This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to do with has I will.
I can waste it or grow in its light and be of service to others.
But what I do with this day is important because
I have exchanged my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever.
I hope I will not regret the price I paid for it.”

  8. SorryOh my most precious Lord and Savior,

How many times in my life have I displeased you, not knowing the hurt that it caused you. When I was angry, when I took your name in vain, when I didn’t make an effort to go to church, when I lied, when I forgot to talk to you, when I gossiped. So many, I can’t even count them. And every single one of them, causing you more pain and agony. I crucified you again, all by myself.

My tears fall when I now realize what I have done! “I am so sorry, my Jesus!” Oh most Holy Lord, I pray that you will forgive me. You have never failed me. You have given me so many blessings and I didn’t appreciate them. Every day, I understand more about you and that it isn’t enough just to love you, I have to stop disappointing and hurting you. I solemnly promise to you that for the rest of my life before every action I take, I will put you first in my thoughts and ask what you would do before I act. Guide me, Lord. Help me keep my promise.

Mold me into the person that you made me to be. Walk with me in darkness and in light. Not for the rewards that it will bring me but in reparation for the past sins that I have committed. In God’s name, I pray, amen.

  9. Why

Why did you not answer my prayers, Lord?

I needed you!  I prayed for help!  I said I was sorry, and I truly am.  I wasn’t asking for myself, it wasn’t for me. Why?

Please, Lord, make it be all right.  Make the pain go away!  And the doubt!  There is nothing I can do, nowhere to go,  no one to ask, except you. Why?

I don’t understand!  Helping would have brought joy and hope and love.  Now, there is only sorrow, despair, anger, “and tears”  Why?

  10. stT

    Saint Theresa’s Prayer

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that
    has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to
    sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

  11. Prayer to the Holy Spirit

    Holy Spirit
“Come, oh Holy Spirit, fill my heart, my soul and my mind with your forgiveness, love, truth and wisdom. Guide me in my daily life, protect me from temptation and shield me with your love.

Give me the wisdom to understand the lessons of today, so that I may live a life more pleasing to our Heavenly Father. Help me to strengthen my faith so that I may accept the will of God without reservation but with love and understanding.

Live in me, oh Holy Spirit, and let your love radiate from me to everyone I see, everything I touch, and everything I say. Because . . . without your love, oh Holy Spirit, I am nothing.

In unity with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I pray . . . . . Amen.”
